SWAGLY Youth Group presents Beyond Acceptance Queer Youth Prom.

Beyond Acceptance Queer Youth Prom will be a queer youth dance for ages youth 11—17 years old. This event seeks to provide a brave space to celebrate all queer identities and embrace queer youth in a supportive and loving community pride event.

Many LGBTQIA+ youths have experienced a sense of not belonging at their respective prom dances in the traditional school setting. This event allows these youth to experience this coming-of-age adventure in a supportive and inclusive environment. It is the hope that while we work on making it safer and more inclusive at the traditional school proms that this event could serve as an alternative to ensure that no queer youth misses out on this experience. Additionally, it gives youth space to express their identities in their most authentic form unapologetically.
