Queer AF Ethereal Beings
Queer AF Ethereal Beings, presented by Saint-Gobain, invites you to explore a world beyond boundaries and binaries on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at Mechanics Hall in Downtown Worcester.
Trans and Queer people are often treated as intangible — myths, projections, misunderstandings — but our lives are real and revolutionary acts. Through light, reflection, color, and form, Queer AF Ethereal Beings will immerse you in a world free of the fixed perceptions many try to impose.
Raja, winner of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 3 and queen of She Done Already Done Had Herses, will be headlining. Drag artists and other performers will light up the stage, and looks from an array of queer designers will shine. Queer AF is known for its community-grown runway, which recruits local models and uplifts people of all sizes, genders, identities, and abilities — this fashion show sends the message that all bodies are beautiful and worthy. Most importantly, the night is a fundraiser for the nonprofit Love Your Labels, which supports queer and trans young people as they explore personal expression, gender, and sexuality through fashion design.
How do you embody light? Bring your most mystical, otherworldly, dazzling self to Queer AF Ethereal Beings on Friday, Sept. 5, at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. Buy tickets now at queeraf.org. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.

Makeup Application 101

This program addresses these and many more questions, covering the basics of makeup application and simple tricks to put your best face forward. This program is open to all ages and genders.
My name is Maura De la Cruz and I’m a makeup artist and enthusiast based in central Massachusetts. My love for all things beautiful led me to art school where I studied fine arts. Although professionally, I’ve mainly worked in the corporate world, I’ve also been privileged to hone my skills as a makeup artist at weddings and photo shoots in NYC, Philadelphia and Massachusetts. My approach to beauty centers the wearer: I want each individual to have the tools they need to achieve whatever it is they want, all the way from learning a full-glam routine for nights out to finding that one perfect lip balm. I believe makeup and skin care should be fun and confidence-boosting.

“The Wizard of Oz” (1939) – PG; 1 hour 42 minutes
In this classic musical fantasy, Judy Garland stars as Dorothy Gale, a young Kansas farm girl who dreams of a land "somewhere over the rainbow." Dorothy's dream comes true when she, her dog, Toto, and her family's house are transported by a tornado to a bright and magical world unlike anything she has seen before.
Unfortunately, she makes a mortal enemy of a wicked witch when the house falls on the hag's sister. Now, befriended by a scarecrow without a brain, a tin man with no heart and a cowardly lion—and protected by a pair of enchanted ruby slippers—Dorothy sets off along a yellow brick road for the Emerald City to beseech the all-powerful Wizard of Oz for his help to return home.
Winner of Academy Awards for the classic song, "Over The Rainbow" and for "Best Score," the family classic also received an Oscar nomination for "Best Picture." A special Oscar for "the best juvenile performer of the year" was awarded to Judy Garland.
